Debra Medina will put control of the Texas environment in the hands of Texans, not Washington DC or special interests. Private property is a core component of a free society, and private property provides the answer to concerns about our environment and pollution in our cities. Debra will restore respect for private property in Texas and pressure the legislature to nullify the unconstitutional federal Environmental Protection Agency and instead maintain a legislative environment where if someone pollutes your air, water, or land you can seek legal action for trespass on your property. There can be no exceptions or loopholes that allow special interests to pollute other's property without consent--everyone is equal under the law and no one can violate the property of anyone else.

Further, as Governor Debra Medina will ensure private contracts are respected and will put an end to eminent domain abuses in Texas. Government has no right to tell private entities how they can contract together, but contracts must be entered into freely and without duress or intimidation, and government has absolutely no authority to abuse eminent domain to benefit private business interests. Texas will lead the way in confirming that property is owned by the person who paid for it and this ownership is not subject to the whim or permission of government or special interests.
